Communicating Powerfully Using Visual Language

This course is an in-depth/practical/historical study of concepts such as Elements of Art and Principles of Design, through the medium of digital photography. Participants will study composition in many genres of photography, including Landscape, Portraiture, Architecture and Macros among others. Participants will produce photographic imagery that more effectively communicates ideas and/or emotions after gaining knowledge of universal design theory. Coursework will include coaching and discussion through critiques. Participants will also explore possibilities concerning exhibit preparation, with the Composition course as the basis.

Participants are encouraged to bring in 3 8×10 PRINTS from the past, that they feel are examples of their best work.
