Digital Photography and Photo Processing 1 is the complete beginning digital photography course! This class is designed to incorporate Digital Photography 1 and Photoshop 1 in the same course. During the 8 week extended class you will learn how to use your digital SLR camera in manual mode and then take the images directly from your camera for processing in Adobe Photoshop. Each week we will discuss relative topics about digital SLR basics as well as Photoshop editing. For those wanting to learn beginning digital SLR photography and beginning Photoshop, this combined course is for you!

The Digital Photography portion of this class will cover the basics of using your digital SLR camera and help you understand the features. By the end of the class you’ll understand what aperture, shutter speed and ISO really mean as well as how to use them. We’ll also teach you about white balance, composition, camera modes, and explore multiple shooting situations. All of the topics we cover will be presented in a “hands on “ environment to give each student the optimal learning experience.

The Photo Processing portion of this class will be to educate students on the necessary tools and processes required to start using Adobe’s Photoshop. Photoshop is an incredibility powerful program that allows serious photo manipulation, photo correction, and touchup. You’ll learn how to transform your pictures from an everyday average photo into something extraordinary. We’ll start with the basic tools such as workflow, layers, cropping, and then move on to working with color correction as well as black and white conversion.

Upon competition of the class, you will have a solid understanding of how your digital SLR camera works and how to process your images in Photoshop. After a short 8 weeks, you will be on your way to capturing digital images that you have always desired and have the ability to manage them in Adobe Photoshop.
